Serendipity . . . . . .

My sweet friend from http://thevintageglitterhouse.blogspot.com/ dropped off this beautifully wrapped gift to me on my birthday. She used seam binding in place of ribbon and tied a vintage piece of a jewelry (possibly an old pin) to the top of the gift. It was so beautiful I didn't want to open it. So, I decided to create a necklace out of the gift embellishment. I loved how adorable it turned out and the simplicity of the necklace. I wore it out and received so many complements. She also gave me two rolls of seam binding since, she has found a million ways to use it and thought I could come up with a few of my own. So, I did. I made another necklace out of a random piece of colored glass and wire. I am so in love with the simplicity of these ribbon necklaces that I hope to make a whole bunch more. The bonus is that ribbon necklaces are the rage right now!

  1. Great idea! I recently bought some of this "ribbon" from an Etsy seller; it looks so nice with tags. I like your idea of using it with some jewelry pieces. You changed your blog? I like the new colors.

  3. I love seam binding! That is such a cute idea to use it for necklaces. I work in an Alterations shop by day, and I've used this stuff to "wrap" some presents ... its great! :)
